Because of their great ability to improve water quality, relatively low operation costs and to their ability to enhance biodiversity, treatment wetlands are widely used around the world in both rural and urban regions to treat various types of wastewater. It is important to understand the latest advances in science, technology and applications.

The 10th INTECOL International Wetlands Conference therefore announces a forthcoming special issue on ‘Wetlands for wastewater treatment’, which is published in Wetlands. We invite submissions of original papers about all aspects of treatment wetlands.

1. Scope
Original papers on wetlands for wastewater treatment and its related research are welcome to this special issue. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
-Treatment wetlands theories and mechanisms
-Treatment wetlands techniques
- Treatment wetlands practice
Papers which are not related to these topics may be rejected without review.

2. Submission Guidelines:
-Manuscripts should be prepared according to the guideline given in ‘Instructions for Authors’ on the journal’s website at http://www.springer.com/life+sciences/ecology/journal/13157.
At this stage, manuscripts should NOT be submitted directly to the journal, but to info@intecol-10iwc.com (by email), the manuscripts will be delivered to the guest editors, who shall subsequently pre-screen them before they may be invited for submission to the Special Issue. After prescreening, the authors of manuscripts that are selected by the guest editors for submission to the journal will be provided with specific details on how to submit the manuscript to the journal. The manuscripts will then go through the normal review process and may still be rejected.
-Deadline for submission to the guest editor submission: April 30, 2017.

3. Notice to the Authors:
- There are no financial obligations, no page charges, no costs for production of color images and no honorarium. Large datasets and other information that may be in support of the paper can be uploaded as Online Supplemental Materials. See Instructions for Authors for details.
